What is Glitter?
Glitter is a text-mode interface to the RPM package
management tool. It allows you to browse packages
installed on your system, verify, query and uninstall
those packages. It allows you to update packages with
new versions and install new packages.
Basically just download and install (or compile install if you get the
tarball or src.rpm). RPM installation goes something like this:
rpm -ivh glitter-1.1-1.i386.rpm
Woohoo! Everyone loves screenshots, even they are from a text mode tool :)
Here are some 'features', or things we'll want to add sooner than later:
- Cleaner screen refresh (should be available with a patch to NEWT).
- Add jumping to packages when a key is pressed (eg. pressing 'g' will
take you to packages starting with 'g'pressed
